Monel Street and Peace Bridge Service Roads Set for Repair Closures

Prosecutors have sent to court a case involving allegations that Sh. Shinetsetseg was subjected to sexual violence in 2011 while she was a second-year student at the University of Arts and Culture. Prosecutors reportedly said three people have entered the court stage in a case connected to four defendants. Polo shirts will become an official option in school uniform sets for grades 1 through 12 from January 1, 2027. The Standardization and Metrology Agency amended the MNS6814:2019 technical requirements for student uniforms to include collared T-shirts alongside traditional uniforms. The Education Ministry first proposed the change in August 2024 and formed a working group; in August 2025, it submitted a proposal to update the standard. Users also obtained 130,181 certificates confirming previous social insurance contributions, 33,201 old-age pension calculation sheets, and 49,092 decisions setting the degree and duration of work-capacity loss. The platform issued 18,168 pension-insurance individual-account certificates, 4,801 certificates for unpaid contributions, and 67 employer social-insurance payment certificates. The figures indicate that people can receive a range of social insurance services online without visiting a government office.

Natural Plague Focus Becomes Active in Bayankhongor Province

Bayankhongor Province’s Zoonotic Disease Centre warned herders, residents and visitors that a natural plague focus has become active in Khangal Third Bag, Bayanbulag soum, Bayankhongor Province, where animal infections have been confirmed. The centre advised people not to hunt, catch or butcher marmots; approach dead or sick marmots or other rodents; or use or transport marmot meat, skins or raw materials. It also urged people to promptly report suspected cases and follow professional advice. During a survey last month at the Buyant Tsuur focus in Gurvanbulag soum, teams checked 688 marmot and ground-squirrel burrows across five sectors covering 45,000 hectares. Samples from seven of nine marmot carcasses found during the survey met requirements for testing, and laboratory tests confirmed the plague pathogen.

Mental-Health Conference to Focus on Care During Emergencies

The Ministry of Health and several health and education institutions will hold an interdisciplinary meeting and scientific conference on September 17-18 under the theme of improving access to mental-health care during disasters and emergencies. The event is being organized in connection with World Mental Health Day, observed annually on October 10. Partners include the National Center for Mental Health, the Ulaanbaatar Addictology Center, the Mongolian National Mental Health Association, the Mongolian Neuroscience Society, the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences and the Mongolian National University of Education. Presentations will cover child and adolescent mental health, brain and mind, psychiatry, and addiction disorders. Doctors, teachers, researchers and specialists may submit abstracts of clinical cases, research and study results by August 11.
